Studying music in Finland

Post by Xisale » Wed Oct 13, 2010 1:58 pm

Hello,

I'm a young french musician and I'm willing to move to Finland to study the guitar and the composition.
You may ask : "Why in Finland ?", and I'd answer you : Because I know there is high-leveled schools with great education system, and plenty of great musicians there. And I always felt attracted by Finland for many reasons.
Let me introduce myself a little more about my musical and studying past : I started to sudy music at the age of 7 as a cellist, pianist and vocalist. Since this time, I've always studied with a special school schedule that allowed me to work my music every afternoons of the weeks. At the age of 13, I started to learn electric guitar on my own. I've never took guitar lessons but I already had a strong knowledge about music theory and my other instruments. I got my bachelor degree with cello option in 2008. Also, I have been studying musical writing and analysis at conservatory and I have a certificate in classical writing.
As you can see, I'm basically a classical musician but I definitely want to play modern music like metal, rock, pop, jazz...
I'm now 19 (and I'll turn 20 soon) and I really want to move and to deepen my learning of electric guitar and composition since I'm aiming to become a professional guitarist and music composer (for films and video-games).
I don't know if it's very useful but you can listen to what I do

So I'm thinking of moving to Finland for a quite long time now, and I need your help and advices : Wich school/university would you advice me? How and when could I enter in? What are the conditions and admission tests for the foreigner I am?
I'm really motivated and I'm ready to learn to speak finnish of course! So please give me some advices.

Thank you very much :)
