Smithy's fan hell

LEEDS fans viciously turned on departing striker Alan Smith as the club bowed out of the Premiership.

Smith infuriated the Elland Road faithful by speaking about a summer move to arch-rivals Manchester United.

And they vented their anger by singing: "You sign for scum — you won't be back" and "Smithy don't sign for scum".

The England ace, 23, looked stunned by the abuse and made an obscene gesture at the travelling supporters.

The despicable taunts also sparked fights in the visiting section as Smith's loyal fans defended their hero.

Team-mate Nick Barmby came under fire as well. The Leeds substitute was repeatedly insulted by his own fans as they raged:

"You're not fit to wear the shirt" and "F*** off Barmby".
