Google Task Bar and PM conflict

Post by PeterF » Wed May 26, 2004 11:47 am

One of the options one can access via Google is to install a "task bar" which enables one to do a "google search" without closing access to another site..i.e. You are on this message board and want to "google" and keep the . window open.
They have recently added an aditional feature to this bar which seems to self install when you visit google..without asking.."Pop Up Blocker"..
But it has a bug/feature...if you are using the BB and a PM arrives and you have set "notify me of PM"..google thinks this notification is a "pop up"
And blocks the source...
You will then be blocked from accessing
http://www...com.
Only soultion/fix is to go to control panel and uninstall the "google task bar"

Another solution is to go to the settings of the GOOGLE Task Bar and allow http://www...com pop ups as well, as an alternative to uninstalling the task bar tool.

I'm using this toolbar for about 2 years now and it works great and I have no problems with . at all. But when you click on the popup blocker it will allow pop ups from the site you're on at that moment.

And the only remedy to a cold is to amputate the nose :ochesey:
As kemars said, you can "allow popups" for special sites by simply klicking on that option in the task-bar. Then it works fine with IE and the google-taskbar.
