Yes, kouluterveydenhoitaja does rudimendary test and if needed writes "order" to optician etc. That of course depends on year etc (in one case its done in 1st and 5th grade) but if you talk with terveydenhoitaja she probably wont mind to check if there is need.

Onkko is absolutely correct. Would add here, though, that at least in Espoo they pay for only for the first eye check, any follow ups you have to pay for yourself.

I think there is routine check ups before that on the neuvola visits as well, perhaps somebody with 4-6 year old kids can confirm this.
