Possible relocation to Finland. Hamina/Kotka area

Post by duchanio » Tue Mar 06, 2012 12:36 pm

Hello Everyone

The director of my company contacted me yesterday and asked me if I would consider moving to Finland to assume a Logistics Manager position there with the opening of a new Warehouse in Hamina.

I am Scottish but am currently living and working in Italy for the same company. I am really enjoying living in Italy and I think that in order to relocate to Finland I would require a large financial incentive but I am finding it hard to find what would be the average salary of a Logistics Msanager in Finland. Can anybody help me with this?

Also could somebody provide good websites for looking at apartments in the Kotka/Hamina area.

I consider the cost of Living in Torino high compared to what I was used to in Scotland should I expect an even higher cost of Living in Finland?

Thanks very much in advance for any advice. :D

Thomas

From the palkkalaskuri.fi website, and making some assumptions about your age, qualifications and experience, it seems that you could be looking at around €53000 per year.

For a more accurate idea, go yourself to http://www.palkkalaskuri.fi, select Vertaa palkkoja, then Esimies- ja johtotehtävät -> Logistiikkajohtaja and fill in the relevant details.

Hope this helps. FWIW, I work in logistics albeit in a more humble capacity; I'd be surprised if that figure was too far out.
