Immigrant Divorce case

Post by Anitha » Thu Nov 01, 2012 8:14 pm

My husband wants divorce from me.So i have couple of questions related divorce practicality.
We have Resident permit type A valid from 2012 to 2017.What will be my resident permit status if he applies for divorce ? Will it continue as it is now ?
I am not student .I am working in helsinki past 2 years.I hope i will get permanent status and divorce will not affect this.
Benefit wise what i have to loose from Kela and umeployment office.

Thanks,
Anitha

No you don't. First of all it is "residence permit" not a "visa". Secondly fixed term residence permit's are given for maximum four years. What does it actually say in your residence permit?
Can my husband apply and get divorce while i am not interested for divorce ?
Yes.
What will be resident permit status if he apply for divorce ?
You should first tell what is your permit status now.
On what basis my husband can start divorce notice to me,where i have no faults ?
No "basis" is needed here, courts are not interested in guilt in divorce cases.
Is there any provision i can punish him legally ?

Well, if he is richer than you but without prenuptial agreement, then you get half of all what you two own,but otherwise no.
