Does anyone know of any nice places for a civil wedding ceremony in the Mikkeli area?

Have you asked the registrar if he does out-of house calls?

My fiance has asked and for a fee they will perform a ceremony off location and on the weekends. I would like to pick the place since I am not Lutheran and do not wish to become one so we can't be married in a church in Finland. It will also be in February which makes it harder to find a place. Not many people (probably 20 at the absolute maximum) are coming, so it doesn't have to be big. I would just like it to be a bit more formal and nice than in a goverment building.

We just did that last weekend. We called the magistrate and got someone who came to our wedding place and married us there on a weekend. We were lucky that the new charge system doesn't start until January 1st 2005 so he performed the ceremony for free (he asked travel expenses). He did a wonderful ceremony in Finnish and English. Perfect.

PS. Good luck with all the preparations for your big day.
