Anyone tried to find a job back in the US after living here ?

How did you go about it and how long did it take you to find something ?

Just curious in case that I have to do that again in the future.

From your post, if you have a Doctorate, just check that organizations frofessional site in U.S. They always have listings of positions avaiable and contact numbers. Your degree must be recognized in the U.S.
