Hi,
I´m looking for finnish Radio-Stations online - it would help me understand finnish and practise before I come up.
I haven´t really found any good links - Shoutcast.com only has a station called "Jeesus on herra" which basically features a maniac screaming into his computer microphone somewhere in Karesvuanto...
I tried radio Mafia, but that doesn´t work (they have some legal blabla..) and YLE has the news, but not a live-stream...
any suggestions?
Kiitos!!
Papu

This was quite an old thread, but just in case these haven’t been mentioned here before:Papu wrote:I´m looking for finnish Radio-Stations online - it would help me understand finnish and practise before I come up. I haven´t really found any good links
- Radio Peili (see the links under the title “Parhaat palat”)
- Elävä arkisto – best picks from YLE’s archives from bygone decades, categorized and searchable (for example, children’s shows such as Pikku kakkonen, or if you'd rather something nightmarishly hardcore straight from the 1970s, Hyrrä!)

This might be of some interest, as well:
- Aristoteleen kantapää – a hair-splitting, humorous weekly radio show about Finnish words of wisdom, proverbs, idioms, common phrases, weird citations, etc. The episodes can be downloaded as MP3 files and there is also a related blog.
There's also this one - Radio Helsinki
http://www.radiohelsinki.fi/
If, for example, you click on the right-hand column at whre it says "PUHEOHJELMAT JA HAASTATTELUT OMALLE KONEELLE"
At the end of the resulting page you'll find the Archives (under >> TÄSTÄ ARKISTOON)
you'll find downloadable programmes that are concentrated on talk progammes rather than music - check out e.g. the "tukevasti ilmassa" ("[both feet] firmly in the air") which is a philosophical programme of sorts by Mr's Jukka Relander and Tuomas Nevanlinna, each on a specific theme. Not 'academic' philosophy, but rather discussion based on and around philosophical and social/moral etc issues, on various subjects. That's pretty entertaining actually.
