Culinary (Keittiömestari) vs Practical Nursing (Lähihoitaja)
Hi I am torn between studying practical nursing and becoming restaurant chef. I would want to ask for your opinions and experiences if you are practicing such professions what are the pros and cons? Like someone told me that working as a chef here in Finland is quite demanding, you have to work most nights, long hours and especially during holidays and as for practical nurse it could be more flexible like you could choose to work with kids, elderly and disabled, hospital or elderly homes, hence you have more time for personal especially family life. I am personally inclining towards becoming a chef but I don't want to work too much, as how one person described it, because I would still want to spend time with my family. Is there also a big demand for chefs at the moment here in Finland ( I know there's a lot for nurses), like is it easy to get a decent job wherein for example, you don't have to really start working in chain restaurants and do TOO much work? I would appreciate your sensible and enlightening replies. Thanks!
