Hello everybody!
I have a few questions to ask all of you and give me your advise.
I got married with Finnish men 3 years ago. We have 2 children together. My husband have not have any responsibilities at home or taking care of children to help me a hand i have to do everything. He usually quarrels to me when his money pocket empty. I am really tired on this situation. My visa is still valid until 2016. I am planning to apply for permanent residence next summer because it is enough for four year.
My question is here
Do i have a right to take care the children after divorce?
Do i have any problems applying for permanent residence next year?
What should i need to do on this situation?
Thank very much for advances.

Custody will be decided with a contract with your spouse or by a court order. The Finnish system aims to seek a solution that is best for the kids.Dennis2014 wrote:Hello everybody!

Reasons for giving an A permit must apply when you apply for permanent residence. This means you can not use marriage if you have been divorced. However, since your children seem to have Finnish citizenship you can use your family ties to them to have a valid reason for a residence permit.Dennis2014 wrote: Do i have any problems applying for permanent residence next year?

Thank for all your replies. Yes both of kids are Finnish citizen. I only take care of the kids my husband never help me at all. He only lives for himself.

As said, your residence permit will not be a problem. If you two can agree some custody arrangement, court will approve it. If the court will have to decide it for you and your husband wants to have shared custody with the kids staying with him perhaps half of the weekends and some vacations then that request will unlikely be denied.
I'd read few of the older child support threads so you can get an idea what to expect in that respect. Again you two can make your own agreement (better to get a court "stamp" on it afterwards), but it is useful to know how much you could demand if he does not volunteer - the amount may be less than you would expect based on want you've heard in some other countries. Main rule is, that there is no support given to the ex-spouse (only children), nor is a millionaire required to support corresponding living standard to his kids.
