My first post here so excuse my idiocy.
I'm from a country that signed Geneva contract meaning I can drive with my country's driving licence without problems in Finland

For two years at most.

I am also a holder of an old international driver's licence which has my national licence info on it in English, but the international licence itself has expired

Expired or not, the international licence is not useful here.

Can I carry both and drive? And present the international as a translation?

Why don't you Google a registered official translator. Hopefully living in Finland. Get a translation into Finnish or English ofthe driving license. Then that will work. If you live near them you could possibly get it done in time.

If you're staying in Finland permanently you should inquire about swapping your license to a Finnish one.

You can do this for up to 2 years of starting to reside permanently in the country.
I urge you to do this if this is your case and it's possible for you to do.
