Are the FIA waiting for someone to die before the "one set of tyres" rule is changed.
This is crazy, Kimi would have been in serious trouble if the wheel tether had not held as the wheel was heading straight at him.
This is typical of the FIA, they make rules but when they find out it is making the sport dangerous they spend 2 years discussing it while drivers risk their lives.
Kimi was lucky!
Kimi is a racer, like any other racer he takes chances. He could have pitted to change the wheel but the racer in him took the risk. Motorsport is risky, look at the statement on spectators tickets - and we pay to watch and take the risk. Lots of drivers including Kimi get paid mega to take risks..... Look at the first corner accident...... Motorsport is dangerous, isn't that part of the appeal?
Other half of takaisin suomeen - what a partnership!!!!
Cheers ofr the euro congrates, maybe we can do a 'pool.
Don't get me wrong, racers take chances what ever the regulations are - that's part of their nature, they work out the risks....
Thank God we don't see as many critical accidents as we did 30, 20 or even 10 years ago.... Remeber that awful weekend at Imola with the deaths of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna. I remember during the 70's not a week seemed to pass without a death being reported in Autosport, from F1 through to club racers.

The race is back to being a strategy this year instead of last year's "the team who spends the most money on equipment wins!"
I hope they don't change the tire rule. In the very least they should make sure the teams follow the rule that clearly states when a car is having mechanical difficulties that could result in an accident, it MUST come in to the pits. I am surprised the race stewards let Kimi race like that instead of black/orange flagging the car into the pits. He was clearly a danger to himself and other teams (he came very close to knocking another car right out of the race when his tire blew).
It's been a great and exciting set of races so far this year! And the rules have been working to keep the speeds in check (and thereby make the race safer again!)
And wow, has Webber been the biggest disappointment to hit F1 since...er...since Alex Yoong repeatedly failed to even qualify? Or when Pizzonia was booted off Jaguar. Hey wait a second.....those were both Webber's teammates when those events happened. Hrm.........
