Extended resident permit on special expert ground

Hello members,

I have applied for extension of my resident permit on 18.04.2018 in Helsinki on specialist grounds and yet today (21.06.18) it's status is waiting to be process. My current RP is expiring on 30th June and I wanted to visit my family in home country and come back. It's very disappointing when I came across some of the cases from my own organisation who applied recently and they got their decision in less than 15 days but for me it's more than 2 months now and still in waiting to process it's really very unfair and it hurts. On the other hand my spouse have applied for here dependent RP from home country (india) on 29.05.18 and her status is in progress but her decision would be based on my decision. I have couple of questions in my frustrated mind , hope you guys understand my situation and give your suggestion on below questions. I will appreciate yours suggestions.
What can be the reason for this huge delay?
Is there any way it can get speed up?
Can visiting Migri office makes any difference?

Not likely since you can continue with what you're doing while the application is processed there is no need to interrupt the process.

My current RP is expiring on 30th June and I wanted to visit my family in home country and come back.

Not having a decision does not impede on visiting home with appropriate travel arrangements.
