Raw Milk around Helsinki

Post by Sumppi » Sat Jan 26, 2019 5:16 pm

Hi

does anyone have an update where to buy Raw Milk in or around helsinki?

I noticed some threads exist, but Bisa Grad is no longer selling milk since a year or more. Thus asking for updated information.

I know I can buy it in K-supermarket Mustapekka, but its 7eur per liter! thats too much for what i need.

Thanks

You can try to find a farm selling directly. I'm not interested in raw milk, there's some information availble by searching (in Finnish, i.e. "raakamaito"), e.g. someone supposedly has bought from https://www.facebook.com/bisa.gard/ . Mustapekka is listed as one of the resellers of http://saloniemenjuustola.fi/ , possibly others aren't selling it at a discount either.

I am also interested in unadulterated milk, let me know if you something with resonable price. Is should be cheaper if it is not processed right? :?

Then again there's a lot less demand for it than the milk the farmers sell by the tanker truck, possibly a different logistics chain and a shorter shelf life. I don't know if there are additional sanitary requirements, just because it's not processed.

I understand! Yes some extra udder cleaning would be nice if the milk is not pasteurized.

OP any luck with this? Did you adopt a cow?

I hope it's just a name and not literal raw milk. If it is, there's a reason it's not sold in Finland... It can be dangerous: https://www.dairysafe.vic.gov.au/public ... g-raw-milk

Hello,

I am a young Belgian in Finland on an internship for a colostrum company.

The purpose of my internship is to gather as much information as possible about the colostrum market in general. I am trying to meet farmers, vets, industrials...

If you could help me in my research, I would be very grateful.

Many thanks in advance for your help,

Have a nice day, :)
