Hi,
I have a 4years work permit. I would like to quit my present job in order to start my masters. Will there is any chance of getting my rp cancelled because of this? I dont want to change my permit.

Have you checked this? It does not look good in your case. Will there is any chance of getting my rp cancelled because of this? I dont want to change my permit.

If your residence permit is based on work, it may only give you the right to work for a certain employer or in a certain field of work. If you have been granted a residence permit for a certain field of work, you are usually permitted to change jobs freely if your residence permit has not expired and your new job is in the same field. If you have been granted a residence permit for a specific task, you are free to perform this task in the service of another employer.
If your residence permit only allows you to work for a certain employer or if you wish to change your field of work, you need to apply for a new residence permit. Read more on the page Changing jobs.
If your residence permit was granted for work and your employment ends, the grounds of your residence permit no longer exist. You need to leave Finland when your residence permit expires at the latest, unless you have applied for a residence permit on some other ground.

You will have problems when renewing your permit or applying for permanent residence/citizenship.

Yes, it is quite possible. Will there is any chance of getting my rp cancelled because of this?
If you don't say anything they might not notice. But as soon as you apply for a Kela hand-out .......

My work permit is "Open type", that means i can work for any company. My masters is only 1.5 years. I would need the study grant at this period of time ofcourse. But after graduation, i would like to search for better job opportunities. Specially, in It fields.

If I were you, I would call te-toimisto and arrange an appointment with an officer there. It's better to be open and negotiate with them. Most of the times, they make decisions on a case-by-case basis. So, depending upon the officer handling your case, they might grant you a right to study with unemployment benefits.paharjoyi wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 8:28 pmMy work permit is "Open type", that means i can work for any company. Disclaimer: I might be wrong on this but that is what I would do in your case!
tips: argue how further education will help you advance your career.

I have a residence permit for specialist worker for two years. After 6 months they requested me to submit a few documents to prove that I still have a work contract and all the salaries I have received during that period. In the letter they sent me they stated that if I don't satisfy the requirements for the residence permit anymore, they can cancel it. I had everything in order so there was no problem, but the point is that they can request you for clarification at any point, and at any point they can cancel your residence permit if you don't satisfy the requirements anymore.paharjoyi wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 8:28 pmMy work permit is "Open type", that means i can work for any company. Hi Guys, nrega job card list
I hold a two-year specialist worker residence permit, and after six months, I was asked to provide documents confirming my ongoing employment and salary history. The letter mentioned that if I no longer met the permit's requirements, it could be revoked. While I complied with the request and had no issues, the key takeaway is that they can request such documentation at any time and cancel the permit if you fail to meet the criteria.
