Hi,
My friend from Ukraine wants to send some gifts to me here in Finland. I don't know the taxation rules to receive a gift from other countries to Finland. Especially, in this case, my friend wants to send gift for my personal use. There are several items mix of brand new items and used items. What is the maximum limit? Can you please tell me the rules? Both for new and used items as a gift?
Br,

The limit is quite low, even for gifts. You will need purchase invoices to prove the value for tax purposes.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't find any information about the used items. I can guess it must be tax free. Shouldn't it be?

Tax is still charged on the value of used items.

How do they count used items value? It depends on the person who posted it. He can mention really low value since he is my friend. In fact its a gift so I won't pay a single cent.

Go to ebay and look what a similar item used cost. That 'll give you a good indication. (and yes, vero can use that trick too)
