X helper problems?

I'm considering coming to Finland and staying for the summer as a helper in the "Help X " program. Are there any government hoops that I'm going to have to jump through? I just hate having governmental surprises.

Visa free or do you need a residence permit? In latter case https://migri.fi/en/volunteering and check if the Help x is recognized by migri.

I only plan to be there for the summer so a visa should be enough? I don't know how long one would have to be there to require a residence permit.

USA has visa waiver program with EU so no need for visa if you stay under 90 days in any 180 days period. If you stay over three months you'll need residence permit.
