I have been looking at a possibility of converting a cold storage room, (kylmävarasto) in to a warm non-living space for work and gym etc. I've checked with housing company board and seems I can build it, one of the houses in my neighbourhood already has similar structure but it's done by their previous owner so no details on the work or the construction design.
I have asked for offer from a small company but it's hard to know whether their way of building will be good or i need to follow up with some architects or building designers. My biggest worry is around moisture problems, if the insulation isn't done properly.
Anyone with similar experiences? suggestions?

Just the property tax part and perhaps the city and council permissions ... ...
On the actual constructions, ventilation is key to prevent moisture.
Once those are covered, it should be fairly easy.

City permission is in place and taxes are covered too.network_engineer wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 10:22 amJust the property tax part and perhaps the city and council permissions ... ...

For the construction, I'm awaiting an offer. but do i need to get an approved architect to design the construction? I've never done anything except building a small terrace etc. so very limited knowledge on the process and best practices including whom to hire and what kind of companies are there.

Just about any construction firm can do this ... have you tried e.g. urakkamaailma.fi or https://kodinplaza.fi/
You can get the companies to bid for the work.

I think you need to insulate the walls. It is possible to do it yourself, there are a lot of such guides on YouTube!

Yes I've watched a lot of content on youtube but it's more like full indoor construction and I want professional help to do the best way. That said,I might take off some work off the renovation company to bring down the costs.Kate_Reed32 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 5:17 pmI think you need to insulate the walls.
