potty wrote:Hard one this. How much money...? You're not planning on staying outdoors during the winter, are you? Here in Turku , I'd say the rent will set you back 300-400 Euros a month, at least. To even have a flat, you need to deposit one or two months rent in advance. So do the math. Of course, you're welcomed to sleep on my floor, thats only 235 a month for you (special offer).
If you're skint, Turku is your thing. Helsinki is considerably more expensive.
If you can choose, come during the summer and live in a tent. Speak in english as loud as you can, and some blonde chick will soon come and take you with her. Problem solved.
OR, maybe more info is needed...
No this is not a joke. I did laugh at the idea that it could be though :p YEH LETS GO ONTO A FINLAND FORUM AND PRETEND TO MOVE THERE WAAHAHAH ehh no
Right so I am basically trying to get an idea of how much dosh I'll need. I pay 400 a month for a place here in dublin city centre with two friends so I'm used to that and would hopefully pay 3-400 there in Turku or Helsinki. The main problem of course which faces all of us and is facing me is the job to keep me there.
Your floor does sound fantastic Potty and I might just take you up on the offer as it'd be a great diving board to get me into Finland and help me find a place to work and of course live. But tbh I wouldn't want to crash your party ye know

Thanks a mil for the offer though I could do with any help I can get so I might just take you up on it.
I am planning a good bit ahead though since I first want to get a couple of finnish courses under my belt here so it's not for a good while yet but I want to be ready and know what I'm doing and all of that

There's a college here in Ranelagh the Sandford language institute that teach finnish courses so I'm thinkin of doing those.
A Job is however the main hurdle to staying there of course and I really would work anywhere there since I'd just want to get myself in the door and then start looking around for better work if I manage to keep the hula hoop spinning
Any advice is really welcome since right now I'm in the dark about what to do stepping off the plane
Thanks
