I've heard that someone's started an Amtgard gathering in Finland- would this be true? O_O I don't expect anoyone to actually play it... but if anyone's ever seen people in strange costumes hitting each other with foam swords, you've most likely experienced Amtgard. It would be so amazing if the Amtgard gathering were still there.

The SCA has been active in Finland for many years. I'm not sure what the difference is between Amgard and SCA.
Now that I think about it, there was even a really interesting TV series following the lives of a bunch of teenagers who went away for a week or so at a time and lived a 'medieval story'. It was interesting to compare and contrast the modern lives with the lives they lived while role playing.
Of course, there's always rope-con....
