In the center of Helsinki , the location suggests me the beer there is too expensive. I've never had any reason to go there, but I have seen it. Do the standard tourist walk around town and you will see it. Between Rautatientori and Kaisaniemi Metro station. Kaisaniemi is closer but Rautatientori and Kaisaniemi are like next to each other.

The corner of Rautatientori is where the buses are and the night buses go in the evening and at nights. There is Eatz and also the Aussie bar

edit: Have lived all my life in this place. So it is hard to think along maps because I know everything but I think the kengoroos must be on the Kaisaniemenkatu corner of that eatz. Yes it must be that way I am sure now

Why do Australians hang out in an Australian bar?

Can't you do that in Australia?

After reading the complete thread I actually wish I could go there and have a good time. There's nothing better then to have good chats with australian people. Always as laid back and smart. :D

When I said kengaroos I mean the obligatory things on the wall visible to the street. They are just obligatory in a place like that. I confess that bar = the small kengoroos on the walls for me

If the few Australians in this city want still tohave contact with other similiar people. Don't think the place is the only reason why they have come here

I have to admit its a bit of a dive. If you think that:

they have the cheek to charge you admission
theres no place to really dance (only a small dancefloor)
the beer is overpriced (Fosters should never cost more than 2.50€)
the music is crap, who listens to that crappy latin music?

So apart from the lousy beer, the crap music and small dancfloor I guess its ok

well i reckon the aussie bar rocks,,the staff are rgeat, the decore cheesy but cool, the drinks cheap (beer 3.50, mollys 4.90??!!!!) and at least the ppl there are likeminded people who dont mind agreeing with other aussies how much of a dump this country can be (ok not really, its fun..in summer!!)

at least when you go there you know youre gunna get good REAL aussie service from REAL aussies..you can have a joke with them, at them or to them and they will turn around and heap !"#¤% back on you if need be..thats a pub!!

Exactly, aussie.

Aussies travel in order to talk to other Aussies. I mean...you wouldn't want to go into a bar and find it full of finns, would you?

What admission ... no way, against my ideology. 3.50 isn't cheap for a beer. Who would pay admission into a BAR? No no

Yeah, whoever has heard of admission to a bar in Finland? Soooo rare! I suppose Narikka is just another tax?

I have no idea why I'm defending this place, I have never been nor ever expect to.

Oh, and 3.50 is cheap for beer in Helsinki. Especially at that address.

Dont pay narikka !"#¤% . There are cheaper places. I wonder why the authorities block nightlife development outside that area. Honestly I find that is almost robbery

Then I suppose those pesky movie tickets they make you buy to enable you to sit on one of their chairs (not to mention the sticky floors) is also robbery?

And what's with the cashier at the grocery store these days?! Simple theft!

You must be rich my friend . no problem with that. Altough I agree 3.5 is still modest in comparison but everything is relative

Not rich, just used to paying these prices. You'll find most places in town average around 4-5 euros for a pint in the central downtown area.

Kallio and other areas with small bars are cheaper, but so is the clientele.
