New books! expat in Finland, and ancient history work

Post by Caroline » Sun Nov 20, 2005 6:01 am

Hi everyone, please check out two books I've recently published:

Why Did You Come Here?: Adventures of an American in Finland

A memoir about the expat experience in Finland. Some excerpts from this book have been published on Finland Journal in the "Notes from the North" column. (the title of course reflects one of the most common questions that local Finns ask when they meet a foreigner)

and

Amerika: Timeless World

An ancient history work by Chilean author Hector Burgos Stone, presenting fascinating evidence to support the theory that civilization as we know it originated in South America.

Both books are available directly from the printer, in either e-book or hardcopy format. A free preview is also available for both books. There is also free domestic and international shipping for orders between $25-$100 USD.

...and the rest of you who have been writing stories about life in Finland, get busy and publish your work so that we can create a big market for this genre!

May I ask why you chose to wait until leaving Finland before publishing? timing, taxes...? Please pm me if you'd rather.. It's a rather self-serving question.. :)

Actually, it was published before I left Finland, but I didn't start actively promoting it until after I left because there was too much going on with getting ready for the move.
