Cricket fans in oulu

Hi
This is my first post on the forum.
As i am from cricket crazy country so would like to knw any site(s) where one can subscribe for cricket series and watch LIVE..
And as many series r starting in few weeks, specially this World XI vs Australia so may be if there r more cricket loving people in this forum from oulu then we can form a grp and watch these series together!!!

Comments? suggestions??

There aren't many cricket fans in Oulu, maybe 1 or 2. Your best bet is either:

1. Get broadband and listen to Test Match Special on Radio 4.
2. Develop an interest in pesapallo or jääkiekko, which Oululainen are quite good at.

Thanks for the suggestion.. i hav broadband so tht's y i was thinking of subscribing to few series if i can find any good site providing live telecast.

Otherwise may be i will choose the 2nd option and would learn some finnish sports.. i already started with salibandy!!

There was some other thread on the Ashes recently where someone posted a list of sites which streamed TV over the Internet. I tried them and they didn't have cricket. It's very possible that you make up 50% of the cricket fans in Oulu James old chap.

Ya i just checked 'Ashes' thread and looks tht there r some brits and australians also on this forum. But wht abt rest of the 50% from oulu ?

I'm the other one. I used to play back home in the UK. Two months ago the sound of willow on leather was heard in Oulu for probably the first time in a long while. My Finnish neigbours had been pestering me for ages about cricket, so we went down the local tennis court for a hit. Do you play? Do you know Chris B in Oulu?

In terms of watching, forget it unless you have a SKY digibox and a 4m dish to get Astra South

Sorry boys, you are only 33.3% of the fans in oulu, im here too...but im pretty shyte at playing, but dont mind a hit sometimes. my best position is in front of the telly....but yeah it is annoying that there is nothing on telly....

Cricket is getting more popular all the time here.

We play in Helsinki http://empirecc.bravehost.com/index.html
But see the Finnish Cricket Association web site also (see our web page links section).

Maybe there might be an Oulu CC one day?

Why not check out some of the local fixtures for the 2006 season when they get posted or our site (Empire) in April?

Tampere would be the closes cricket gets to you at the moment.

I'm not a very regular furum goer but will maybe come back to this thread within a month or so.

I know that a bunch of (mainly?) Pakistanis were thinking of coming to Tampere about 18 months back... hoping to play some tennis-ball match friendlies against a Tampere CC XI, but that fell through because of transportation problems.

If you manage to get a team together, and some reliable transportation , I'm sure we could find some suitable date for a friendly here in 2006.

btw. we start our indoor training here in Tampere this weekend.
