As an Au-Pair in Finland you need to pay taxes. You are earing about 800€ pe month. There is more than just your poket money of 250€ per month. The accomodation and food als counts as sallary. That's why you need to pay taxes. There was a big article last winter in Helsingin Sanomat about Au-Pairs in Finland not paying taxes but they have to.

Yes, it's true that your theoretical rent and food would be taken into account. That really stinks. But check this out with your host family....

I guess your host family needs to call the tax office (Vero) and double check.
