Hei

Time to use our imaginations and work together to create an ongoing story in Finnish by writing a sentence or follow on phrase from the previous post. (with the English translation aswell)
This will help many people interested in Finnish (and me of course) and of course, corrections are always welcome!

So what do you think?

I'll get the ball rolling and let's see what we can come up with, mutta minä en ole kovin hyvä suomessa I hope it will be better if I used it more.


Se oli sateinen aamu, kun Kaisa katsoi ikkunasta.
It was a rainy morning when Kaisa looked out of the window

Yhtäkkiä Kaisa huomasi että tänään on pyhäpäivä ja kaupat ei ole auki olenkaan!
All of a sudden Kaisa realised that it was a public holiday today and that the shops aren't open at all!

"Hitto", hän sanoi itsellensä.
"Damn", she said to herself.

[Pete]

'Mutsi ja Faija tulee kylään tänään ja minulla ei ole pullaa tai maitoo, mitä mä teen nyt?'
'Mum and Dad are coming over today and i haven't got any sweet buns or milk, what will i do now?'

Hän käveli portaita alas ja katsoi jääkaapissa.
She went down to the kitchen and looked in the fridge.

jääkaapissa ei ollut kuin valo ja sinappia. Kaisaa harmitti ja hän huusi miehelleen Karille: nouse jo ylös sängystä, meidän pitää lähteä asematunneliin.

In the fridge was nothing but a light and mustard. Kaisa felt aggravated, and he yelled to his man Kari: arise from the bed already, we need to get to the trainstation tunnel

Kari protestoi: Minulla on hirveä krapula ja en tiedä uskallanko, koska sisäelimeni ovat epäjärjestyksessä.

Kari protested: I have a horrid hangover and I do not know if I dare to, as my internal organs are misplaced.

[Pete]

'Perkele Kari' sanoi Kaisa, 'joka kertaa ennen kuin minun vanhemmat tulee, sinä aina juot niinkuin sieni!'
'Dammit Kari' said Kaisa, 'everytime before my parents come over, you drink like a sponge!'

[Hank W.]

"Enhän minä kultaseni", sanoi Kari, ajatellen hiljaa mielessään "anoppini ajaisi raittiusseuran puheenjohtajankin juopottelemaan"

"Not me, darling" said Kari, thinking silently "my mother in law would make the temperance society chairman go on a binge".

[Pete]

'No, lähetään nyt ennen kuin meiän juna tulee' huusi Kaisa, 'on ihan tarpeeks nolo että talossa ei ole ruokaa!'
'Well, let's go before our train comes' screamed Kaisa, 'it's embarrassing enough that there isn't any food in the house!'

"Matkaliput olkaa hyvä" sanoi sinipukuinen täti junassa.
"Tickets, please" said the lady in blue on the train.
