Finland is situated in northern Europe.

If you wish to have general info and advice, you could first check out at least some of the earlier threads... and then, if you have a specific question that troubles you, then it would help if you told us (the forum dwellers) a bit about yourself- are you interested in studying in Finland, or... and what country do you come from. (oops. sorry the country info was already included )

The news articles of rabid penguins attacking people in public transport are highly exaggerated.

...no jokes about those penguins! A fellow student lost half his arm because of them. And it happened just recently on the bus from Helsinki airport to the center!

Apart from that, Finland is considered as very safe. Just make sure to bring your anti-penguin spray with you :!:

Why Finland ? ( I am just curious ! ) Why not France,Germany or England?

Do you know some people in Finland? I think that it would be a good idea to visit Finland before you make the move. All foreigners do not find happiness in Finland. See this discussion ! :

Think again. Finland is a bleak and dreary country, and the majority of Finnish people are sulky and intolerant brainwashed coachpotatoes. Believe me, I am a native Finn with over thirty years of experience. This year I can finally afford to move abroad. Free at last, Oh God, free at last!!!

Utter nonsense, this is Gods own country, and you can never have too many hairdressers.

Do the hairdressers have anything to do with the penguins in the trams? They are everywhere, I killed one in the street last november...A hairdresser I mean.

Naughty! killing a haidresser out of season will get us reprimanded by the EU courts. We should send all the hairdressers to Brüssels to roam on the streets and see how they like it! All their precious poodles would be permanented!

Don't forget to bring a shotgun with you. There are too many polarbears wondering around in Helsinki.

Well, if you're anything like my nephew who skipped university and is now 22 and enjoying an exciting career in food service at Panera/The Bread Co. I'd suggest you finish your education first back in the US.

Lets trade hairdressers for Belgian beers...Im sure we could figure out some sort of arrangement. Has anyone seen the hair on the heads of the Belge? Its really distressing!
