If I had Douglas Coupland's talent, I would now commence writing my debut novel. It would be called Hairdresser Nation and described as "a poignant and disturbingly accurate portrayal of a country in crisis - you can almost smell the dirt on the streets."

If I had Carl Hiassen's talent I would start my debut novel- a murder/mystery- featuring a misanthropic grime-fearing traveller, killer penguins, finnish hairdressers trading their services for beers in the streets of Brussels and a cheeky, bearded, bi-lingual, axe-wielding lumberjack.
