Generic stuff can also be found in either http://www.teesi.fi or http://www.hongkong.fi or even http://www.tarjoustalo.fi for a good deal, but not eally specialized parts. One needs to be a bit price-conscious with hardware stores and the price/quality ratio. For example I bought my chainsaw from K-rauta, but the chains & stuff come from the local tarjoustalo.. ;).

I mean I have a hardware store nearby, but buying a fiskars spade and gloves there is 33,60 + 5,95 vs buying the same from tarjoustalo 14,95 + 2,30 makes you go hmmm...
I certainly don't have daddy's money, K-Rauta & Starkki at least stock construction materials & LVI stuff (Domestic ventilation was mentioned).

Hardware e.g. Black & Decker power tools is generally cheaper from HongKong but they don't carry ventilation ducting or many building supplies, same goes for Tarjoustalo. Starkki, K-Rauta & Bauhaus carry everything you need to build an entire house.

Never tried TeeSi, or more accurate to say I've never seen a TeeSi... seems it's mostly in the Capital area.

Hank W. wrote:No, with tools its a bit different. The "generic" 5 euro tooltime-spades are crap, I've broken two. I bought *exactly* the same Fiskars spade 14,95 (it was on sale, reg. 25,50 or so) and the same gloves... And the Fiskars spade *is* good... not that I'd pay over 30 euros for one...
well I guess I'll eat my words.....In my experience steel tools are steel tools. Bought a cheap chineese brand of sockets and have used them "like i stole them". I've put 3 ft breaker bars on them and yanked until the car lifted off the ground and never had a problem. Maybe I just got lucky.

I've broken wrenches more than I can count. I usually get mine as a "better set" from Biltema or then "better set" from HK, something like drill bits I go for the "brand" same with screwdriver bits, no use buying ones thet go "round" after the first screw... Then again the cheapo generic stuff like stone-drill bits (or should I say bars) are really 'machineable' parts, but its also to do with how heavy work you do with them... the philips bits count after putting in 1 screw vs. drywalling a room...

HK carries drains, the big ones say like in Nummela have a (crap) selection of building materials. And Tarjoustalo SuperCenter was where I bought my ventilation shafts.. the pipe itself one needs to get from elsewhere, but the vents are available cheap. Even Biltema carries copper pipe ;)
