Personally I love the way Argentina plays! And I am so tired of hearing about Brazil being favorite for the Cup though Dida is the best goalkeeper!!So...GO ARGENTINA!!!!!

The Australians of course....though I cant see it happening....
But what shall it profit a people if they satisfy all material desires, but leave for their children nothing, only a wasteland.

Yes of course...there is devious long term plan that I am not sure that I should reveal..
But here goes.

Problem is Finland does not seem to breed enough world class football players.
The problem is in the geenes (or even Jeans  ).

Solution...we need at least 11 Finnish girls to be smuggled into the Brazilain squad's accomodation in Germany.
Then they use the Hot Blond tactic to persuade these Brazilians not only to do what is needed to produce a Finnish Pele, but that they should move to Finland immediately and continue with the project there.

By my calcualtions Finland will have a world beating football team ..just in time for "the next time they win the European Song Contest :D :D "

 A cunning plan, if ever there was one

Maybe these two could actually be combined - "O nosso futebol" will be the next Eurovision victory for Finland  The group could be called "Povos da vila"... all dressed up in football-related costumes; referees, players, goalkeepers and hooligans of course  :D

Just thought of one weakness in my plan..

Due the fact that Finnish female of the species is so domineering, it means that female geene is much more likely to dominate in any breeding plan. So 2/3rds of kids born will probably be girls.

Solution..just few more Finnish females to be used as lures for our proposed Pikku Pele Project.

Obviously I want England to win it, but my money is on the Hermans.

Argentina left out Hernan Crespo and Javier Saviola, but didn't look that great against the Dutch.

Brazil = just not that good.

Joe Cole = as good as any Brazil player.

Sinikettu - you'd be better off sending a few women to each decent nation's camp. Getting Joe Cole to sh*g one of them might be a bit of a challenge though.

Oh. Is Joe batting for the opposition, as well? I thought it was his half-brother Ashley. Ummm... allegedly.

Spain and Argentina have caught the eye. Since I've backed Torres for the golden boot, I'm hoping Spain go the distance. They've got Brazil in the quarters, but I've not seen anything world-beating from the Brazilians as yet. Let's see if they can totally demolish Japan first. Six-nothing and I might start to take an interest.

But most of all, I want to see the Czechs stuff Italy tonight. And if Ghana do the business over the Septics, too, then the Italians will be homeward bound. And some of them may be required to talk to PC Plod when they get back.

I'm not an avid football fan meself but this I have to say: it's one of the most universal things around. Whatever country people come from, they can play football together. Maybe they play it a bit differently, and some are "better" than others but as with so many things it's taking part that counts. (As long as you win, that is )

Of course, people can also fight over it but that's not the game's fault eventually :?:

And no, I don't have a fav team/country...
