@mikkmaxx:
Learn to write an impressive cover letter and an exceptional CV (true to your capabilities and experience). If CV is more than 2 pages, you should not positively expect a reply.

Hope this helps..

If he/she is in college, then I doubt the length of the CV is the issue.

Go to http://www.mol.fi/platser/ ... it is in Swedish (but if you can understand Finnish, by all means use that, I just gave the Swedish because it might be easier to navigate than the Finnish. There is no English version of the search engine, that I am aware of.... (note, I have never gotten a proper job via the state (un)employment office).

Here, for example, is a http://www.mol.fi/platser/Job.do?lang=s ... or=6319151 cleaning job.
Put in as few search terms in their search engine and cull them by eye. Often putting a single word like "English" or other "speicalty" you might have, will help.

Why only look for "open posts"? Why don't you just go and ask in different places where you would like to work? That is the way most young people find jobs in Finland - I should know since I have coached unemployd and seen the results!

Keep in mind, that everyone wants a person, who is active, motivated, inititive and easy to get along with. Leave your CV - they may not need you now but call you later. Many big companies don't announce an open post but look through the aplications they have received otherwise first, they say, that these people surely want to work for them!

Good luck!
