Post by SAHARA » Sun Aug 06, 2006 7:15 pm

Hmmm....i have no idea whats went wrong with my residence permit application now,They said it will ready in 2 weeks but 2 weeks has gone and they don,t even call me???But as i can,t wait for the result from the immigration i do called them and they said, residence permit base on marriage was not enough....so....it really make me frustrated...
Before i and my hubby decided on married we keep finding info abt the immigration law,we even asked from the finnish mission abroad for their adviced,so we do so as what they said....but now....i feel like they was teasing me or suspect me with negative mind.....now they want some proof or additional information paper.....yeah we have it...but why??my question are...do i have the right to apply my residence permit here....as they told me to apply from finnish mission on my country....and now my current visa will last till 14 august.....can i extend my tourist visa in police or immigration here....??i dont know what will happen in this week...i got mail from my flight reservation ticket that i need to confirm but to do so as the immigration here does not issue any answer to me??....but yup i have my one question again....while im waiting for that residence permit to be process, then my visa will expire but what after that??Do the immigration will consider it that im over stayer.....pls...pls....tell me...what to do???Thank you...very much for all your idea and info....will keep fighting!!!!!

Basically, If I remember right, you can stay until you receive an answer about your permit from the police.
Also, your permit should go through based on family ties - these are usually just a formality.
about the 2 weeks though, it would be very quick to come back in that time - especially in july. you should check these answers with the police though.
But what shall it profit a people if they satisfy all material desires, but leave for their children nothing, only a wasteland.

It also depends slightly *where* you are from.. "true love" is suspect from certain countries.

Yup,i came from high population country in ASIAN,but yeah now i did remember the last time i applied my visa, the finnish mission in my country need additional info...i was laughed,as her question was based from my passport where i,ve been travelling around asia....She asked me what did you do in this country,in between those date in my visa.....hahahaha???I dont have such attitude for my life,i mean always has positive mind towards life......but ofcoz i dont blame others if they decided to justify abt which country i came from????Today i went to maistraatti to get the paper that area stating where im staying then go to police, look alike much more positive outcome but see tomorrow they want me to be there at 8 am...... :D :)

I hope this is just a false alarm. It doesn't sound promising to me. If the police will isse the residence permit, they usually just write a letter to you saying that you can come to the police station to pick up your passport and permit. If they will reject your application, they need to give you the written decision, probably with an interpreter in your own mother tongue. That's why they set up an appointment.

Hope this is really just a false alarm. I'll put my fingers crossed.

I was worried too...but ofcoz i dont need interpreter for my communication as english was well spoken in the police....but yesterday we told to the officer there when we submit the additional info,we got nothing to hide or else...and ofcoz we brought some print out from UVI website that i have the right to apply my residence permit here as they kept suggested me to apply from finnish mission in my country...so no reason for me to go bck again as i need to be here with my hubby....After the officer was read some evidence related our communications via email that i,ve put in draft with the finnish mission in my country that i copied...and we did said as the first answer was negative because the finnish consulate has given her some recommendation....was it???so the officer said no....i can make the decision here without her recommendation....hahaha...on that day when i applied for my visa the finnish consulate pressed me to make the married decision in front of her....as she could nt issued the visa....but i told her i dunno if i will get married,so i will go to finland for holiday......then she issued the visa....im happy....as they told me to come to police at 8 am....and yup i got my 1st residence permit and my social number as well....
