learning Finnish in Finland
learning Finnish in Finland
Hi, i read somewhere on this message board that it is possible to learn Finnish in Finland and you will be paid 500€ a month by the government for doing so. As i can't find the page (and i have looked) i was just thinking could somebody tell me if this is true or not, And if so could you please link me to a site that will help me find out more information. English site preferably but a Finnish site will do. Any help would be appreciated. Kiitos

That is probably the "integration allowance" thing. Basically you won't be able to go on a proper dole without having worked first, so people resident here can get on such a programme, as learning Finnish is usually one of the prerequisites of getting a job.

Theres links back to this site, so the "search" up there will help too. You might try PM:ing someone "been there seen that". There used to be a pretty good set of stuff on the MOL pages but their English version has been "under construction" for some time now. And, as always with government/county programmes the rules may change yearly.
