We are just a group of International (European, African, Asian etc) mums that meet informally each week. I've no idea of the age range- anywhere from about 21 to 30 plus. She will be more than welcome.
Hopefully we will meet her tomorrow, she just needs to look for the buggies in the new section on floor 6!
Hannah
PS Congratulations on Daniel! Where are you both from btw?

Hi moms and moms-to-be,
I'm recover from delivery now. My baby, Liya and I would like to meet you all soon. Unfortunately, I'll not be able to make it this week. Btw, I'm struggling for breastfeed which she always refusing and makes a fussy scenerio in every feedings
And also crying a lot at night that makes me lose many sleeps
Hopefully, she will become stable soon. And we'll be there soon.
Hi M, I feel sorry to hear about your health. Hopefully, you'll recover soon with your medicines. Always keep your body warm, avoid cold food.
See you all soon.
Anjuta and Liya.

Check her tongue and inside her mouth. Do you see white dots? She might have thrush which make it painful for her to suck. Quite common and easy to treat. Or maybe your breast is too full making it hard for her to latch on. In that case try to express a little bit of milk before the feed.
Hi anjuta!
First, congratulations!!! Great to hear about your baby
Second, I'm sad to hear about the breastfeeding problems. I can totally symphatise you, since we had it quite difficult with P. Maybe these days, you could reserve 2-3 days only for "nestling" with Liya. This means that you two just lie close to another for most of the day, in bed of couch. Have lots of skin contact and listen to each other. Reserve lots of your favorite food and drink ready, whatever you like. Give Liya breast whenever she is interested, but if she refuses, give up soon and let her decide when and how long she wants to eat. Forget clock and feeding times. Try this for three days. If it helps, try to continue "nestling" as much every day as you reasonably can, and anyway feed her in her own rhythm.
I've read that the babies who get too little milk don't make these "scenarios", so you can be quite sure Liya is getting enough milk.
If you are giving extra milk from bottle, try to get rid of it as soon as possible. Bottle is definitely the number one factor behind breast feeding problems. If you must give bottle, use Avent 1- new born bottle+teat (or similar) which remind the form of breast and nipple and don't so easily destroy the correct latching. If you end up in partial breastfeeding, try to continue it at least four-six moths instead of just giving bottle. This is the essential time when the baby really benefits from the extra antibodies, growth factors etc. in breastmilk.
Here is a good article in english about latching refusal that is referred in the (IMO) best finnish breastfeeding sites:
http://breastfeedingonline.com/26.html
These sites (http://breastfeedingonline.com/newman.shtml) include a huge amount of good information about all sides of breastfeeding.
Anyway, I hope Liyas refusal is just a few days' problem and then it all eases and you don't have to give a thought to bottles etc..
Lots of strength and nerves to you. Would be nice to meet you soon!

Hi,

M, thanks for the long advice.
Yes, you are right that bottle is the main factor behind breatfeeding problems.
While I was in hospital, I was so exhausted that I haven't produce enough milk and also unable to breastfed her. So the nurse and her father fed her using bottle (as we didn't have any idea about this refusal problem before). Then, as she didn't suck well, less milk production. As less milk production, she refuse to suck and vice versa. Thus makes a fussy scenerio and comes bottle automatically.
Anyway, she seems adapting now as I totally cut off bottle. And yes, I only used that Avent 1 bottle.
See you all soon!
