odon, thanks for replying.

dont know where to move, Helsinki or a big city, I think (work), but anywhere's fine.

not a tourist trip... i'll try to get a job (any), and rent a room / whatever. then maybe find a better job if i need it. my skills? well. my english is ok i guess, just need to practice a bit with some real conversations (ya know, here no one talks english... just young people, and poorly -as i haha-)

so... any work's fine, i'll just try to live, for some time.

by the way, here im programmer, but i do not expect to get that work there...

  If you do not habla finlandes, the only work available you might get *is* a programmer. No finnish = no unskilled job. To get a job as a nohablante you have to have an extra special skill...

Hey Asidie, it's Eloy, I'm from Barcelona and I'm thinking about moving to Finland couse I've heard good stuff about Finnish people and as well is a land that I find pretty nice.

The story is that I've just came from Ireland last 3th July where I've spent 1 year and I really feel like moving again.

Which I wanted to ask ya is if you already have any information about finding a job, acommodation and facilities for a foreigners such a language learning helps etc.

Please let me know if there's any good job website.

...closed shop dude...my mate got me my job but then again turning water into wine wasn't much of an issue for him either...

..your call but this aint no London, Rome or Madrid...its very small, very close knit and once you're 'in' its one of the greatest places in the world to be...

May I ask, why Finland?

You are spanish, trust me you will not like it here :D

I suggest you visit Helsinki ( by the way there is no big city in Finland that falls under the international definition of a big city other than Helsinki) for a week or two before you make this move. I hope you won't change your mind.

MAA

By international standards Helsinki just about qualifies as a city, but not a big city. I'm not knocking it, I like the size of the place :)

Me too :) It's true, Helsinki is a "big city" only by Finnish / Nordic standards. Nothing wrong with that of course, unless you're expecting something different.

Have a look at this pdf file on the stats of the "major" Nordic cities...
