There is quite a lot of "and stuff". What is your imagination of what you are going to be doing here? There is the exchange-visitor (work holiday) visa thing the embassy pages surely have a lot of information on - the local Ozzies can probably assure you one needs to be a bit of a wizard to get a job though.
Cheers, Hank W.

First a question..
Why do you want to move to Finland.?
If it is to study at one of our universities there is a process that is not the same if the reason is to find work.
Check this link
http://finland.cimo.fi/
As you are not a EU citizen then a visa is needed.
You can get a three month tourist visa.
To stay longer is more difficult.
Work permit (job offer), or accepted onto a university course for example.
People do not become more irritable as they grow old - they simply stop making the effort to avoid annoying others.

Hey Leesa

I am an Australian in Finland on the Working Holiday visa that hank mentioned. It lets you live in Finland for 12 months, and work up to 9 months of that time, but you are restricted to working for 3 months with each employer.

The Embassy of Finland has a website that tells you more, and also has links to the right forms you need to complete, as well as the costs etc. http://www.finland.org.au/en. They also have information on other types of visas, but unless you have some sort of family connection or are studying over here, and you want to work, then I think the Working Holiday visa is your best bet. But maybe other Aussies on the forum can share their experiences, knowledge and wisdom??

My visa application took about 1 month (I think), so if you are heading off in May 07 you still have some time up your sleeve.

Hope that helps!
