Weaning

Post by Shazzer » Mon Oct 23, 2006 11:31 am

For those of you who are introducing solids to your babies, thought I'd share this little gem of a website with you! Also useful for pregnant and breastfeeding moms.

http://www.annabelkarmel.com/

Our baby will be seven months in a week's time - so am planning to introduce proteins in the form of chicken and fish. I've already given him some chicken blended into his lunch & dinner meals to try and he likes that. But please advise on fish - which is a good first fish to start off for baby? Thank you!

Just checked the archives and noticed some other weaning sites have been posted before by Hannah - so I'd just add them on here. Sorry, should have just tagged mine to this thread.

Shazzer, we started fish meals with rainbow trout and then white fish. She liked both a lot.

Thanks RA for the fish tips! What is white fish in Finnish? What about cod (turska)? Did you give that to N as well?

Raw and on the bone of course....helps with their teething...
People do not become more irritable as they grow old - they simply stop making the effort to avoid annoying others.

Crud! You must have seen me doing it

Actually, it was called being cheap as I had a bunch of reindeer meat
in my freezer from knowing too many reindeer herders 8) And, of course,
it wasn't their first solid food.

Too bad though that I didn't come up with the idea then of pureeing it
and freezing it into popscicles. Would have helped with the teething ;)
