Ourvision - singing contest for foreigners in Finland

The OurVision - song contest is aimed at the immigrants coming from outside Europe. The event will take place in The International Cultural Centre Caisa during the spring of 2007. Entries to the contest begin on Monday the 6th of November!

"Lordi´s" Eurovision victory was a surprise for many Finns. It was almost impossible to believe that the next Eurovision contest was going to be held in Helsinki. But in addition to "Lordi" Finland has also a lot of other surprising, hidden talents. In Finland and many other European countries the immigrant groups enrich the culture.

There are many talented people amongst them but only a few actually get to show their own talent to the public. Now it is possible! Caisa is offering the ethnic minorities a chance to perform in front of the music business professionals and a live audience.

OurVision starts with the trials in January. The contestants compete first with their own group members. After that the selected best five of the group compete again with each other in Semi-finals: Latinvision, Afrovision, Asiavision and Arabvision during the spring. After semi-finals the best two of each group will be competing in the OurVision finals 5th of May for the OurVision Victory. The OurVision jury will include several leading music professionals in Finland, like Heikki Sarmanto.

Entries to the trials begin on Monday the 6th of November and finish on Monday the 11th of December. The applications can be filled up in Caisa, Mikonkatu 17 C or in Caisa's webpage http://www.caisa.fi.

OurVision song contest is the biggest individual production series in Caisa's history. Come join us to find new personal talents and to expand our conception of music, culture and "of being European".

Fri 20.4. 7 to 10 p.m. Afrovision
