Boy or girl

Post by nopa » Mon Dec 04, 2006 8:36 pm

Hi!
i would want so much to know if i have a boy or girl, since they didnt tell me in kätilöopisto,so i heard if i go private doctor they might tell. i called many places today, the "good prices" ones said we do not tell, the more than 200 e ones said yes they tell, but i think 200e is too much..
Does anyone of u know not so expensive private doctors who could tell me that? am already 24 weeks pregnant so this is the best time to see it..
Thank u all.

No idea as we never found out. If you cant find anywhere you could have a bit of fun with the following...
http://www.amazingpregnancy.com/oldwivestales/ correctly guessed the sex

http://www.thelaboroflove.com/chart/cal.html wrongly guessed!

I'm 21 weeks pregnant, already know the sex of my baby, and both of those links gave the wrong answer.

Nopa, the best person for this is Dr Bruno Cacciatore, he is making those expensive 3D ultrasounds at Femeda, but he is also at Mehiläinen Leppävaara on Thursdays
http://www.mehilainen.fi/dynamic/fin/in ... or_id=2523

Try to call there and ask price, it should be around 80-100 euro I guess. And just for sure, ask if he tells the sex of baby, he did 2 years ago!

I had both of my kids in Lohja hospital, they told also the sex during the normal ultrasound at 18 weeks. I heard Helsinki is difficult with this, but small towns around might be easier.

Her husband's rather traditional about the customs of not giving name or gender beforehand so we probably shouldn't put her on the spot asking. :)

Krisztina, someone else told me about same doctor u mentioned,so most likely he is the one i should see:) price was 210e, but with kela card its 140e.
By the way,if i dont have kela card,do i still get money back by sending kela some papers?
Thanks again!

Ha, not a chance, kiddo!

Actually, it's rather hilarious because Kirsti knows what we're having since she was at the ultrasound with us, and my mom is currently here visiting and trying to find out from Kirsti what it is. We've actually trained Kirsti (age 3) to say, "Boy, girl, boy, girl ... I don't know, Grandma!" And then she runs around laughing her little butt off. It worked until my mom became convinced it was one sex over the other (the wrong sex actually), and then Kirsti came whining to me, "Mommmmmmmm, Grandma says it's a (fill in the blank)." In a tone that urges me to correct Grandma. I think my mom is catching on now, but she's still playing along.
