Does anyone know of an indoor 5-a-side football team I could join in Helsinki or Espoo? or, would a few people fancy meeting up for a game some time?
I'm already missing the amateur football league season just started in the UK.

Have you had any luck finding a team yet? I'm on the look out too. I've been living in Helsinki for a couple of weeks now, and would like to get back into playing some regular games. Any news let me know. Cheers. I play in goal.

Anyone found a team whatsoever? Could we make a team of those who have no team?!

Missed this post, I'm up for it if you are still looking for players. My offer of a team fell through as they don't train in winter.

You were offered a place in a team? Who, where, how?! Good stuff.

Myself, I'm looking for indoor or outdoor football...but I don't exactly want to wait until summer...Does anyone have any advice for us here in this thread regarding finding teams, creating teams, sport centres or anything else useful? I live in Stadi, but know bugger all, unfortunately.

Partners sisters boyfriends mates, therefore Finns, 11 a side team, i was promised 5 a side training and games during winter but i think they're all depressed at the lack of snow or something.

I'll find out if they're up for a game vs the expats. He works for the council in the sports dept working at all the diff sports centres around Helsinki, i'll find out more and see if his mates want a game.

That's great. What sort of level do they play? I've no idea what local amateur leagues are like (I HOPE they're amateurs...).

I might be interested in organising a regular indoor 5 a side game in Helsinki on a weeknight in helsinki if I can get 10 players who will turn up consistently and pay approx 8.50€s per game in advance. PM me if interested.

Ok the pitch is €85 so it would be €8.50 each for an hour game unless we also have a couple of subs. We should aim to have 15 players or so on the books as not everyone can always make it.

Today I booked a pitch at http://www.meripeli.fi/ in Hakaniemi on a regular Wednesday night slot of 20:30-21:30 (It was the only time they had available).

The pitch is booked from Weds 24.1.2007 to Weds 30th May 2007

I promised the guy there I would let him know next Friday if we will take this or not. So by next Friday I need to have 10 confirmed players who can make the first Wednesday 24.1.2007

Therefore we need a few more players so ask a friend.

Even if you can't commit to every Weds please try and make this first one as it buys us a little more time to get some players.

I have emailed the people who contacted me already, anyone else interested can PM on this board. I will ask a few more people myself.

The pitch costs €85's so for 10 players it will be €8.50 payed in advance to my bank account. The place accepts work sports tickets so you can use these too if you get them.

Ideally we need about 15 players on the books, when this happens I will drop the price to about €7's assuming that we get about 12 players a week turning up (The pitch is big enough to play 6 a side or we can have 2 flying subs).

We will have a cap of 15 players though, anyone contacting me after that will go on a waiting list.

Fitness and skill level are unimportant as this is just for fun.

I'm confident we can get this off the ground so I look forward to hearing from you.

OK I think we deffo have enough players for the moment, anyone else contacting me will go on the waiting list. Could be they don't have to wait too long though as its a new event and these things often have a high turnover when they are starting up.

Its worth getting your name down on the waiting list as a few people dropped out and we took 3 new guys last week. PM me if interested.
