Post by scoobymcdoo » Thu Feb 01, 2007 9:46 pm

Just giving all M and Ms some notice.

Thursday 1st march- HopLop- 10.30am onwards

http://www.hoplop.fi for more information

There is an area for under 3's which includes a slide, ball pool, soft play etc. Then there is larger area for over 3's with a huge slide and climbing equipment. Suitable for all mini M and Mers. €5 or free for the tiny ones.
Microwave, changing facilities, lunch to buy, cafe area, parking etc. You can stay with your child or you can leave them to play on their own. Sophie has been going since it opened and we go every few weeks. It is an easy half day out and they sleep very well afterwards!

Sophie will be turning 2 and Maya will be turning 1.

Please come and join us for a get together.

Hannah

Hi Hannah,

That is such a good idea - Isabella and I will definitely join this double-B-day event!

We were really sorry to miss the meeting today but got a call from neuvola and they had transferred our appointment for today. It was not much fun either as Isabella realized yesterday for the first time that strangers are strangers indeed and did not co-operate much with our neuvola lady!

But - see you all next week and have a good weekend!

I'm so looking forward to joining you all in a few months. We are just in the process of moving - waiting for our house to sell, etc. I will be in Helsinki in April (after easter) to look for a place to live and we are hoping to be settled by May or June. I think it's great that you have these organized events for children and moms to get together. I have a 5 year old and a 17 mos old - both boys. We are moving from Canada. Both of my parents were born in Finland so I guess I'm 100% Finlander which is funny since I'm sure I will be in for a major culture shock having been born and raised in Canada. I do speak Finnish quite well so I am also looking forward to helping anyone who needs it....

My husband's company is handling all of the relocation details including providing us with a real estate agent, etc. I have this idea that I want to live in the city (Helsinki) and experience all of the wonderful culture and opportunity that it affords but then on the other hand I may be dreaming since I know it is quite costly to live in the city... does anyone have any thoughts on this...raising a family in the city vs. in the "burbs".... what about buying a house vs. renting a condo or apartment ?

Thanks !

Great :) We'll join you. But I guess we have to see the place earlier, it sounds so nice... my colleague also praised the place, she uses to go there with her daughter frequently.

FinnGirl, you're wellcome to join us! My daughter is also 17 months and there are several other kids about the same age, most girls for some reason.
