I went to a game last night. Jokerit were playing Kalpa in Helsinki. This was my first hockey game in Finland, but I've been to a couple in the US before. I've never really thought about which team I support here. My son became a fan of the "blue team" immediately. I, however, am not so sure. It seemed that Kalpa tried a lot harder. Maybe it was a bad night for the home team, or I was just sitting at the wrong end of the ice, but it really looked like all of the effort was coming from the other guys.
Who do you support and why? Are there any Jokerit fans who can tell me if it was just a bad night? Are Kalpa just especially enthusiastic or hardworking?

I guess you should support the "Blue Team" the Espoo Blues but it seems like they can never get their act together. No other team spends as much money as the Jokerit and maybe one day they'll be champions again. I like the underdog so I root for Kalpa and JYP and its always a fight for the "jumbo finalli"
Your timing is a bit off, Hank. Blues destroyed Kärpät last night. And they are four for four in their last err... four games. Yeah, sure, they'll self-destruct sooner or later and go down at home to SaiPa, but for now, they are the form team locally.Hank W. wrote:Well, it could be worse... you could be routing for Espoo Blues
Besides, as someone pointed out, it's her DUTY to support them. Jokerit are just another branch of the SanomaWSOY hegemony, and therefore the devil's spawn.
Tappara is #1 (I have a couple friends in Tampere who are big fans)
If they are knocked out of the playoffs, I'll probably root for Oulu Kärpät next. (The current starting goalie for the Minnesota Wild NHL team, played for Kärpät in 2004 & 2005.)
Any takers for a "virtual beer" bet on the upcoming Tappara-Jokerit match?

Helmikuussa vahvassa vireessä ollut Blues kärsi toisen kerran peräkkäin tappion, kun SaiPa vei pisteet Lappeenrantaan maalein 3–0.

Hello. Have you already seen this new project. Looks pretty good
I'm really looking forward to launch of this manager. http://www.powerplaymanager.com

So I will renew the offer for the upcoming Tappara vs. Blues playoff match-up. Any takers? All in fun, and there is virtually no way to either pay out or collect on the bet. (Some exceptions noted.Ravvy wrote:Tappara is #1 (I have a couple friends in Tampere who are big fans)
