Stokke Tripp Trapp chairs

Post by scoobymcdoo » Tue Mar 13, 2007 4:36 pm

At M and Ms last week I know there were a few people wanting to know more about the Tripp Trapp high chair. I said I'd post a video to show how safe these chairs are...

Here is Sophie at 13 months old. A good sturdy chair, highly recommended.

PS Sorry- video has somehow turned on it's side!

We have 2 of em and they are the available for the same price of €149 from both Stockmann and Kodin Antilla but Antilla has a better choice of colors and variety in the clothes accessories.

If you want to use it for a baby, you need to buy the add-on that costs about 40 euros. Or at least that's what the salesperson who managed to sell me one said.

A word of caution to anyone buying one to keep a wily child in a
high chair: mine have all escaped from them just as easily as any
high chair. I felt bad for the day care, which went out and bought one
specifically for the reason of keeping the eldest in it  Too bad
they'd never heard of the concept of telling to him to keep his
butt planted or else.

Ok, I had wondered what those were when, in November, I went to the shokki hinta sale where you get one item at Kodin Anttila for 40% off - and every other person in line had a box containing something called a stokke (I think it said Denmark?). I couldn't help but wonder what was so fantastic about a Stokke chair :) I was buying a MuumiTalo :)

This high chair looks really great...much nicer than the ugly plastic one I have . I have to admit when I first saw it I thought it looked nice but not very safe so I "googled" it and found that you can buy a 5 point harness to go with it....a must i think for any child under 18 months. Every child is different but my 20 month old would be out of it in about 2 seconds flat so the harness would still be a must !

It doesn't take too long to get out of a 5-point harness either

I have had a tripp trapp for 3 yrs. ds 1 & 2 have never even tried to climb out of it, & have both used it till around 2 & half yrs old, but ds3 climbed out of it at 7 mths (that´s when he started walking (SCARY!) The quality of the cloth padded cover was really carp tho! It is a great chair for my toddlers to use to play my piano next to me!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

Last I checked, http://www.huuto.net/fi/ has a couple of parents selling their Tripp trapps. I suppose it should be ok buying a 2nd hand high chair?
