fees for a marriage contract - notary public

Post by gwend37 » Fri Mar 23, 2007 2:40 pm

We (Finn/German) want to draw up a marriage contract. At the moment we still are in Germany. There the fees for the notary public are exorbitant, because of the considerable value of the property. Do Finnish notaries public have a similar way of raising fees - dependent on the value of the property in question or do they charge by the hour or even take an agreed-on lump sum? Who can help?

Thanks Gwen

The notary public doesn't do such things in Finland.

You have to draft the agreement, get two witnesses and file the prenuptial or avioehtosopimus in the maistraatti. And once you get married in Finland then it comes valid.

Now if you need a lawyer to draft the agreement, thats then their fees how much they charge for making one, around 150 euros for starters I'd guess...

OK, heres a guy that does it all on the web
