Was Master Bates a very short person? The effigy seems to suggest he was about 4 feet f-all in height and had a rather large upper torso and head. Or else he's wearing a Burton suit.

Hang on...what did Ted Bates actually look like?

He may well have had 7ft arms, a kenny everett hand and a spacehopper for a head.

That statue actually made me laugh until my head hurt, last time that happened was because of this photo-fit:

Oh boy...thanks Simon for making me laugh on a Monday morning...oh I wish I could have wintessed the unveiling and the looks on peoples faces. Poor Master Bates...and 18 months it took him, he obviously didn't once look at it from a distance to check proportion.

I do not know wether to laugh or cry i really do not , you try looking at that and not laughing i mean to say what essence is caught of the great man there ? Look at the ****ing hand waving , what is that all about ? Its looks like Ronald McDonald is saying goodbye to the kids , His legs have the height of an umpa lumpa , his head was proportioned of that lad from mask , and he is holding a mitre size 3 football in Geoff Capes hands !
