Is there any way to get the NBA in Finland?

Post by Aylwin » Thu Apr 12, 2007 7:35 am

As far as I know, there aren't any NBA packages from any of local cable/satellite operators. They don't even have ESPN.

I know I could probably download the games via bit torrent but I'd like the chance to watch the games live. Plus, you don't exactly get broadcast quality for torrents. Does anyone have a solution?

Doesn't seem so, at least Viasat and Canal plus definitely don't show it. Its a shame as its the only American sport I truely enjoy watching. They show european basketball, not that, that is much consolation.

You can watch ESPN with P2P software:

But the quality is crap.

What about http://www.nasn.com/ (North American Sports Network)? We get it on Welho cable. I think it's on Canal Digital too.

I sent NASN an email and got the following reply:
Thanks for your interest in NASN!

We broadcast NBA only in UK and Ireland. We don’t currently have rights for the Nordic territory.

We have college basketball though on the Nordic channel.
Back to square one. :(

I think with Welho you can get Canal Sports, which broadcasts NBA.

With NASN you get college football, MLB, NASCAR.

You can always try http://www.tvu.com and http://www.sopcast.com for internet streams.

yeah, just download those p2p programs listed here: http://myp2p.eu/ and you can almost get any game you want.

However, usually the game starts at 4-5 am here which is damn annoying
