estate agents...

Post by ad » Fri May 11, 2007 8:04 pm

I might be moving to Finland in August but can't get a reply from any estate agent I've contacted on what I'll need to lease an apartment, in terms of fees and paperwork. I'm waiting to find this out before I accept the job I've been offered in Hameenlinna, so I need to know as soon as possible so my work permit can be arranged.
Can anyone help?

Money helps. Actually you better ask your employer to organize the lease, magic word is työsuhdeasunto . I'm too tired to explain the "facts of life" that have been discussed here umpteen times. Just believe me on this.

just remember it won't be furnished and you do not want an end-date on the lease as you don't want an end-date on your work contract. Fixed term is bad, very bad.

Oh, and not getting an answer.... Welcome to Finland

So true... In that respect, you should probably find Finland easier than UK, in fact ;)
