Summer is one of the four seasons of the year. In the West, the seasons are generally considered to start at the equinoxes and solstices, based on astronomical reckoning. In English-language calendars, based on astronomy, summer begins on the day of the summer solstice and ends on the day of the autumn equinox.
You would need to contact the clubs directly. They all have websites. I know Jäähonka in Espoo http://www.jaahonka.fi (one of my kids used to play) but there are other clubs all over town.
Here's a list for Helsinki:

I hope that I am wrong but I suspect that Finnish clubs will not accept you as a member if you do not speak Finnish. It that turns out to be true here is an alternative for you :mcwilliams wrote:Just wondering if anyone is looking for a canadian goalie on mens ice hockey team this year in helsinki area. where could i get more info about leagues and teams?

Good Day! Heres a link to the Finnish Ice Hockey Federation where you can place an ad to mention your availability and if any team is looking for a goalie, they will contact you. You can do everything in English with no problem.

Suomen Jääkiekkoliitto - Toimintastrategia
After this go to Keskustelo and register.
Here is a list of most of the hockey clubs in Finland and you can look into adult recreational hockey.

Kiekkolinkit : Juniorisarjat
If that fails, pm me and I'll give you a address of a friend who is a goalie and imports goalie equipment to Finland. For the life of me I can't remember the brand. Good Luck!
p.s. One bad thing of adult hockey over here is that they don't have the "beerathons" in the dressing rooms after the games

I hoped that I would be wrong, it turned out that I was and I am very happy about it.penelope wrote:I know plenty of kids who do not speak Finnish who play ice hockey, I don't see why it would be different for adults. Some of the clubs even have pages in English. And there are players from USA and Canada, Europe and elsewhere who play for Finnish teams.
One of the reasons we enrolled our youngest in a hockey club when we arrived was to help him learn Finnish. But we soon figured out that it wasn't really a very "verbal" sport. In fact one day when we asked him what the coach had told them after the match he replied: " the coach said, Turpa kiinni !".
So now he just does football, which has really helped his Finnish alot. Nice kids, great coach and a good team spirit. And we don't have to be "on the ice" at 7am on Sunday mornings any more!
