Thank you Canal+ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......

Post by oompah18 » Sun Aug 12, 2007 10:32 pm

....for a great weekend´s viewing of the Premiership. I must have watched bits of at least 5 games, even though my tots tried their best to distract me    . Best of all, Reading fought ManU bravely, great stuff! (I had the tots in their Reading kit, playing footie with a blowup ball in the lounge all afternoon, while it poured outside!)
Here´s to an interesting season, as long as ManU don´t win!!!

(Funniest thing, my brother in UK is a Reading season ticket holder, but couldn´t make the game, so I posted him that useful link
http://www.myp2p.eu/index.htm & tried to explain how to get it to work, so he could watch the Reading game online! )
Allie the crazed sports fan, trying to have a life outside toddlers!

Thank you Canal+ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......

"Life is Good"
Everything's relative

My team won in Liverpool yesterday - unfortunately against Tranmere and are now only on minus 12.

Sometimes wish my parents had moved somewhere with a less painful football team before birth! - though NEVER to Manchester.....

Just moved to Espoo - haven't found a local Sport's Bar yet.

Ah Liam, i guess things have gone downhill for you the past five years or so, but we were in your position a few years ago, just don't give up hope. I look back and wonder why i chose City over Utd and always realise i made the right choice :?

You certainly made the right choice!

Let's hope you are right - having !"#¤% a division ahead just feels wrong! (no disrespect to Scunnie fans - though what are the odds of there being a !"#¤% fan on a Finnish ex pat site?!)

I'm a Royals fan too but don't have Canal sports channels so had to follow the game on the internet. The last part of the second half (after Kitson was sent off) seemed really exciting with Hahnemann doing some great stuff at the end. My footie-nephew (who lives within hearing distance of the Madjeski stadium) was here last week and he was being all negative about the Royals chances this season.... Especially their defence. Maybe he will change his mind now.

Did manage to watch England v. France at Twickenham though: Chabal is amazing.

Which subscription do you have for Canal?

Hi Penelope

How did you get to see the England v France game?
Just speccing out such things and need to do my research
properly so that I can "accidentally" chose the package that
gets all the sport!!

Canal+ (sport1, sport2 & mix) airs the Premiership games http://www.canalplus.fi/sport.asp.

For rugger you used to be able to see something on TV5 so long as the smurfs were playing.

this one was called Soho http://www.gastropub.net/soho/index_en.php
but i do also know that other bars were showing different games so depending who you support theirs a good chance its on somewhere. i'm like you like to be in a bar if i can't get to the ground myself.

You boys'll have to give me a shout if you don't mind watching games involving my team, the mighty Everton. I can't count the amount of times I've been sat on my bloody own in O'Connels or Soho watching midweek games, it gets depressing sometimes!

I'd be happy to return the favour and bring myself to watch a few games from the dark side (that'll be either of the Manchester teams or 'those who shall not be named' from across the park).

I have le enormous "parabole satellite" sur le roof of my maison and an analog decodeur. I get all the French channels TF1, France 2,3, 5, M6 etc. So yes, I'm OK as long as the smurfs are playing and I guess I'll get most of the World Cup too.

Problem is my totally knackered TV..... really need to invest in a new one at some point in time. Half the screen is sort of yellow and the sound is sort of scrambled.

Possibly the Institut Francais in the Cable Factory will show some of the big World Cup games. Not sure.

Apparently more tickets go on sale tomorrow, but not sure from where yet. Anyway, if not we'll have to arrange a meet some time for a bit of footy watching. If I don't get tickets I may well end up in Soho too.
