I was buying a drink at R-Kioski and the old lady cashier convinced me to
buy TWO Viking Lotto tickets. She assured me that I could win. Now I'm
curious how I'll know if I won. Is there a web site or some other place where
I can see the numbers? And what exactly am I looking for on the tickets? I
see a series of numbers at the top and then there are some lines dividing
that section from another with "A KYLLÄ" and "B KYLLÄ" with some large,
bold-font numbers between them. Gambling is so difficult!

A/B is for Jokeri which is a separate game, and sometimes those numbers can be read from either direction...

A = from left to right
B = from right to left

According to Veikkaus the playing stops at 7. So it ends in 20 minutes. There is also this: "3. Jos pelaat Keskiviikko-Jokerin, valitse pelitavaksi A, B tai molemmat"

"If you play Wednesday Joker choose A or B or both."

I don´t understand any of it, but you don´t have say "kyllä" unless you want that Joker-game, too. You can say KYLLÄ twice or once or not at all.

The tickets I bought were already printed. From what you just wrote, I'm guessing that it means that when she printed the tickets she chose both A and B. That's probably why it's on there. At least that's how it would work if I were in charge.

If it says kyllä A and B you must have payed to play in the jokeri game.

Thanks, everyone. It's more clear now. Dh has 0 interest in gambling so I'm on my own (or at the mercy of the kind folks at FF).

She did'nt have to say anything as the tickets were already printed, it is usual to buy them in the kiosk ready printed if you want, or you can choose your own numbers.

If you like filling the coupons in the store (I know I do ) do as follows;

In Viking Lotto you choose 6 numbers out of 48, 0,5€ per line/row/'game', max. 10 lines per coupon = 5€. Chances of winning are lousy since I haven't won once

Lotto, 7 numbers out of 39, 0,7€ per line/row/'game', max 8 lines per coupon = 5,6€. Chances of winning are better since I have won some times (~50€ being my biggest winning)

You can also make weirder 8-12number lines but they cost so much more (even though the possibility of winning something obviously doubles)

The Jokeri game is something that should not be played since there is a lousy ice hockey team to be found by the same name (choose 7 numbers between 0-9, costs 1€ per line, never played it though)

Then there's pitkäveto, the noblest game of all, but that's another story...
